About Michael Westmore

Michael Westmore is an Academy Award winning make-up artist best known for his work in various Star Trek productions. In 1975, he worked on the three-part television horror film Trilogy of Terror starring Karen Black.

Born in Los Angeles, California, Mr. Westmore is the son of Monte Westmore, father of McKenzie Westmore and brother of Marvin Westmore, also a make-up artist. Westmore won an Academy Award in Makeup for the 1985 Cher film Mask, and has been nominated three other times, for 2010 (1984), The Clan of the Cave Bear (1986) and Star Trek: First Contact (1996). He has won nine Emmy Awards, and was nominated for at least one Emmy every year from 1984 to 2005 (as well as from 1976 to 1978). Westmore has also won or been nominated for various other awards for makeup.

On October 3rd, 2008, the Westmore family received a star on the famous “Hollywood Walk of Fame”. We look forward to having Michael along with his wife Marion join us as keynote speaker and special guest at the 2008 Canadian Makeup Show.
